HILARIOUS MEMES ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF GRAMMAR
By T.A. Maclagan

Words without proper spelling or grammar often take on new and unintended meanings. To drive home the importance of grammar, below are some of the funniest memes around. If you’re a grammar nerd, you’ll definitely relate to these images!

First, let’s look at the importance of the comma.

Run, kids!

Commas do, indeed, save lives.

So soothing.

Wow, just wow!

HERE, by Aaron Thompson

You speak to me, and I don’t always listen, yet somehow you still love me.

I know that you’ve given me everything, but I often forget.

Is it intentional? Or do I just get tied up in the busyness of everyday life?

It’s amazing how easy it is to forget the simplest of things.

Like the fact that you spoke everything into existence with the smallest of phrases.

Or that the power of those words still holds everything together.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

What must it have been like then? The anticipation of everything that was To Be?

You had it all planned out, and always knew exactly how it would be,

And still you spoke.

That’s one thing I’ve never been able to wrap my mind around.

All the awful things we would do to one another, and yet your love was large enough

That you opened your mouth to say, “Let there be light.”

Just for the opportunity and the hope of relationship.

Even the best of men are selfish enough that they couldn’t think to love like that.

By most measurements, I hope and pray that I’m a good man,

But I can’t even begin to comprehend loving like you love.

You shaped the mountains and the stars just to give us something different to enjoy,

Knowing all along that so many of us would say it’s all just an accident.

You planned a rescue from ourselves although many would tell you they’d rather drown

Than be answerable to someone larger and more important than themselves.

Thank you for teaching me about you, and allowing me to experience your love.

Even for just a little while here on this place you gave me to live.

Help me to remember to see others the way you do,

So your love could shine through me and give others a momentary glimpse

Of the opportunity and the hope of relationship.

Help me to listen.

Help me to hear.

Help me to anticipate everything that is To Be.

Release to God What We Cannot Control
By Debbie McDaniel

“Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.” Psalm 55:22

So often in life we may find this to be true: we hold on too tightly to things we were never meant to control. It’s hard sometimes, to let go.

We struggle to change things. We strive hard to maintain order and keep all in line. But when problems mount high and pressures feel overwhelming, we begin to understand more fully how little control we really have.

Maybe we look all different places for help, yet forget we can press in towards our Savior. Maybe we forget that He never changes, and He still holds the power to heal and set free. Maybe we don’t believe that He can, or wants to, work on our behalf. Maybe we forget at times, that He’s still the God of miracles, that He can act “immediately,” that He can do in a moment what might take years for us to work through on our own.

Let’s set aside our fears and move towards Him today, in faith. Let’s press in close, and reach out to the One who is All-powerful, compassionate, loving, and kind. He knows already, the wounds and troubles we’ve carried, He knows the pain and worries we’ve felt, He knows how much we’ve tried to let go, and fix things in our own power. Let’s choose to believe that our situation or circumstance is never too big for Him to bring healing and freedom. He is Able. Nothing is too difficult for Him.

He is always within reach.

He is never far away.

He is close.

He is with us.

The song, “My Worth Is Not In What I Own,” was written to help point us to the soul-satisfying grace of Jesus in our lives. 8 YEAR OLDS WRITE ABOUT GRANDPARENTS. THIS IS PRICELESS

Grandparents are a lady and a man who have no little children of her own. They like other people’s.
A grandfather is a man and a grandmother is a lady!
Grandparents don’t have to do anything except for be there when we come to see them… They are so old they shouldn’t play hard or run. Is is good if they drive us to the shops and give us money.
When they take us for walks, they slow down past things like pretty leaves and caterpillars.
They show us and talk to us about the color of the flowers and also why we shouldn’t step on “cracks.”
They don’t say, “Hurry up.”
Usually grandmothers are fat but not too fat to tie you shoes.
They wear glasses and funny underwear.
They can take their teeth and gums out.
Grandparents don’t have to be smart.
They have answers to questions like “Why isn’t God married?” and “How come dogs chase cats?”
When they read to us, they don’t skip. They don’t mind if we ask for the same story over again.
Everybody should try to have a grandmother, especially if you don’t have television, because they are the only grown ups who like to spend time with us!
They know we should have snack time before bedtime and they say prayers with us every time and kiss us even when we’ve acted bad.
Grandpa is the smartest man on earth! He teaches me good thing, but I don’t get to see him enough to get as smart as him.
It’s funny when they bend over, you hear gas leaks, and they blame the dog!

THE TRAIN, by John McDonald

Image may contain: outdoor

At birth we boarded the train and met our parents, and we believe they will always travel by our side. As time goes by, other people will board the train; and they will be significant i.e. our siblings, friends, children, and even the love of your life.

However, at some station our parents will step down from the train, leaving us on this journey alone. Others will step down over time and leave a permanent vacuum. Some, however, will go so unnoticed that we don’t realize they vacated their seats.

This train ride will be full of joy, sorrow, fantasy, expectations, hellos, goodbyes, and farewells. Success consists of having a good relationship with all passengers requiring that we give the best of ourselves.

The mystery to everyone is: We do not know at which station we ourselves will step down. So, we must live in the best way, love, forgive, and offer the best of who we are. It is important to do this because when the time comes for us to step down and leave our seat empty we should leave behind beautiful memories for those who will continue to travel on the train of life.

I wish you all a joyful journey

Just exhale (right now) … and Smile. Feels better, doesn’t it? Practice it again: smile. “Fix my eyes on God — soon I’ll be praising again. He puts a smile on my face. He’s my God.” Ps.42:5 MSG.

I get it, sometimes smiling is an act of defiance against what’s pressing down hard. And at times smiling is an act of sheer bravery.

You become real when you make every situation, every suffering, into a way to lead you into closer communion with Christ. A broken way.

Nothing pleases God more than letting Him touch the places you think don’t please Him. God is drawn to broken things—so He can draw the most beautiful things. The cross alone is the good brokenness that can break bad brokenness and make you real.

The thing is? What seems to be undoing you can ultimately remake you.

What if the deeper you know your own brokenness, the deeper you can experience your own belovedness? I wonder if this is the refrain of the believing life: I fall because I am broken…but I rise because I am beloved…and I fall again because I am broken….but I always rise because I am always beloved…

You are always loved.

Ran across this on my Facebook timeline and it just resonated so much with the struggles a lot of us go through on a day to day basis. Everywhere you go and regardless of what you do, there will always be those obstacles that put to the test how bad we want to achieve our goals. At the end of the day it is those obstacles that separate those that want from those that do.

God has a destiny for you. He has a purpose and a plan for you. He has something that maximizes your skills, personality, experiences, passions and compassions in a way like no one else ever could.

God sets twists and turns in all our lives that provide opportunities for us to grow, mature, be humbled, learn, develop, surrender, gain confidence and more. I call these twists and turns “detours.”

Detours are a good thing that often feel bad.

We learn patience, compassion, kindness, gratitude and all those wonderful things that empower us to fully live out our dreams. You may feel that your life right now is on one ongoing detour from fulfilling your dreams … while you’re serving the needs of others, setting your own hopes aside. But, just like Joseph whom God positioned from the pit to the palace, God has a plan for every moment in your life as well. Yes, even the most mundane and monotonous ones.

God is taking you straight to your destiny … in His ever God-like-zig-zagging-sort-of-way.

Father God, help me keep my eyes open and learn to look for Your hand in the midst of happenstance, so my hope remains steadfast and my heart remains full.

..new day & *no fears* because fears are just the bad stories we tell ourselves. *And your Father is far bigger than your fears.*

No automatic alt text available.

This is why “I have set the Lord always before me. Because He is at my right hand I will not be shaken” Psalm 16:8.

He pulls you right close & whispers it, “Do Not Be Afraid.”

He knows how hard things are. And He knows how *faithful He will be.*

That’s why He repeats it again & again, 365 times, so we don’t have need to fear any day of the year: Do Not Be Afraid.

He holds every minute of this day & His grace & timing are *perfect.*

You can abandon all your cares because Christ will never, ever abandon you. You can abandon your fears and abide in the safe expanse of Your Father.

So we’re just going to go all out & Trust & be brave: It takes courage to listen with our whole heart to the tick of God’s timing, rather than march to the loud beat of our fears. By Ann VosKamp
