Even though we live in a motor home on the road, our home state is Louisiana. In my other blog “Dora and the Explorers” I wrote about the flooding there. I found some appropriate graphics about Louisiana that I will share here. Please be in prayer for the thousands in Louisiana without a home and struggling to go through the massive mountains of rubble and trash that was their homes and lives.
QUOTES FROM CORRIE TEN BOON
“There is no pit so deep, that God’s love is not deeper still.”
“If God sends us on stony paths, he provides strong shoes.”
“Worry is like a rocking chair: it keeps you moving but doesn’t get you anywhere.”
“Faith sees the invisible, believes the unbelievable, and receives the impossible.”
by Brandalyn Mae PorterToday I painted a new residents nails at work and as we were going over colors, she mentioned she wanted clear. The only thought that came to my mind was “CLEAR?! That’s no fun.” I asked her why she wanted clear and she said, “My hands are ugly, I don’t want to draw attention to them.” I then carefully responded with, “Your hands tell the story of your life. They tell the story of love, of care and adventure. These hands have touched and held things that most people can only wish to one day.” And with that, she went with the color pink for her nails.
Sometimes what we are so insecure with, others find beauty in.
This use to be my mama and I’d want to put tape on her mouth sometimes when we were out in public. Now I can almost see my kids carrying around a roll of duct tape for me when I start doing this!
OLD SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO
Though technically part of the Puerto Rican capital, the island of Old San Juan is it’s own small town. European-style cobblestone streets add to the charm of this spot, which feels like stepping right into a 16th-century Spanish colony. The best part? You don’t need a passport to get there.
