An Interview With God

Author Unknown

I dreamed I had an INTERVIEW WITH GOD.

“So, you would like to interview me?” GOD asked.

“If you have time,” I said.

GOD smile. “My time is eternity… what questions do you have in mind for me?”

“What surprises you the most about humankind?”

GOD answered…

“That they get bored with childhood, that they rush to grow up, and then long to be children again.”

“That they lose their health to make money… and then lose their money to restore their health.”

“That by thinking anxiously about the future, they forget the present, such that they live in neither the present nor the future.”

“That they live as if they would never die, and die as though they had never lived.”

GOD’s hand took mine… and we were silent for a while.

And then I asked, “As a parent, what are some of life’s lessons you want your children to learn?”

GOD replied, “To learn they cannot make anyone love them. All they can do is let themselves be loved.”

“To learn that it is not good to compare themselves to others.”

“To learn to forgive by practicing forgiveness.”

“To learn that it only takes a few seconds to open profound wounds in those they love, and it can take many years to heal them.”

“To learn that a rich person is not one who has the most, but is one who needs the least.”

“To learn that there are people who love them dearly, but simply do not yet know how to express or show their feelings.”

“To learn that two people can look at the same thing, and see it differently.”

“To learn that it is not enough that they forgive one another, but they must also forgive themselves.”

“Thank you for your time,” I said humbly.

“Is there anything else you would like your children to know?”

GOD smiled, and said… “Just know that I am here. Always.”

A sick man turned to his doctor as he was preparing to leave the examination room and said, “Doctor, I am going to die. Tell me what lies on the other side.” Very quietly the doctor said, “I don’t know…” You don’t know? You’re a Christian man and don’t now what is on the other side?” The doctor was holding the handle of the door, on the other side came a sound of scratching and whining. As he opened the door, a dog sprang into the room and leaped on him with an eager show of gladness.
Turning to the patient, the doctor said, “Did you notice my dog? He’s never been in this room before. He didn’t know what was inside. He knew nothing except that his Master was here and when the door opened, he sprang in without fear. I know little of what is on the other side of death, but I do know one thing…. I know my Master is there and that is enough.”

A nurse took the tired, anxious serviceman to the bedside. “Your son is here,” she said to the old man. She had to repeat the words several times before the patient’s eyes opened.

Heavily sedated because of the pain of his heart attack, he dimly saw the young uniformed Marine standing outside the oxygen tent. He reached out his hand. The Marine wrapped his toughened fingers around the old man’s limp ones, squeezing a message of love and encouragement.

The nurse brought a chair so that the Marine could sit beside the bed. All through the night the young Marine sat there in the poorly lighted ward, holding the old man’s hand and offering him words of love and strength. Occasionally, the nurse suggested that the Marine move away and rest awhile. He refused.

Whenever the nurse came into the ward, the Marine was oblivious of her and of the night noises of the hospital – the clanking of the oxygen tank, the laughter of the night staff members exchanging greetings, the cries and moans of the other patients. Now and then she heard him say a few gentle words. The dying man said nothing, only held tightly to his son all through the night.

Along towards dawn, the old man died. The Marine released the now lifeless hand he had been holding and went to tell the nurse. While she did what she had to do, he waited.

Finally, she returned. She started to offer words of sympathy, but the Marine interrupted her, “Who was that man?” he asked.

The nurse was startled, “He was your father,” she answered.

“No, he wasn’t,” the Marine replied. “I never saw him before in my life.”

“Then why didn’t you say something when I took you to him?”

“I knew right away there had been a mistake, but I also knew he needed his son, and his son just wasn’t here. When I realized that he was too sick to tell whether or not I was his son, knowing how much he needed me, I stayed. I came here tonight to find a Mr. William Grey. His Son was killed in Iraq today, and I was sent to inform him. What was this Gentleman’s Name? “

The nurse with tears in her eyes answered, “Mr. William Grey………”

The next time someone needs you … just be there!

Proverbs 31 Ministries's photo.

There I was on the beach my weakness standing beside their strength.

I was on a beach vacation with several friends who have dancer’s legs. I guess you could say I have dancer legs too, if you’re referring to the dancing hippo from the Madagascar movies. I can eat healthy and exercise all day long, but lean legs are just not in my genetic makeup.

When comparisons sneak in it can be hard, worse than hard. It can quite simply make me forget all the strengths I do have. Then, I stop being thankful and become consumed by what I don’t have.

I desperately need God’s truth to bump into my weaknesses every day. Only then, can I stop comparing and start living in the reality of who He’s made me to be. Not perfect. Not even close, but good. – Lysa TerKeurst, Proverbs 31 Ministries

sparkleHighway Patrolman Shocked By Hilarious Elderly Driver

A concerned highway patrolman saw a car filled with elderly ladies driving down a busy highway at a mere 22 miles per hour. When the patrolman pulled the car over, he was stunned beyond

belief to find out why the driver was going so slowly.

Driving Ladies-1

Looking for speeding vehicles is not unusual for highway patrol, but when this officer clocked a car going much slower than the posted speed limit, he became quite worried. Good drivers know that driving too slow can be as dangerous as driving too fast, so the officer was determined to remind the motorist of this.

Seeing that the car was filled with five older ladies and aware of their need for safety, he pulled the driver over for a friendly warning.

He pointed out to the elderly lady that he had clocked her at 22 MPH. He explained that driving too slow could cause a situation that would endanger their safety, along with the safety of other motorists.

He also noticed that the other senior ladies seemed quite upset, even though they didn’t speak a word.

When the driver explained that she was going precisely the exact posted speed limit, her response bewildered the officer. Again, the officer stated that going too slow is very dangerous.

This time, it was the driver who was baffled. She again restated, “I am not going too slow. I was going precisely the speed limit!”

She then pointed to the road sign. Finally, the patrolman realized the problem. “That’s not the speed limit sign!”, he exclaimed. “That is the number of the highway! Route 22!”

Driving Ladies-5

The little elderly woman was embarrassed for her mistake. She thanked the officer graciously for explaining her error.

Just before he let the motorist leave, he thought to ask about the other ladies in the car who still looked quite stricken. He spoke to the driver saying, “Ma’am. Is everyone okay? These ladies look quite upset, and they haven’t said anything. Is there a problem?”

Driving Ladies-4

The sweet old driver responded with a sly smile, “Oh, they will be okay. We just got off of Route 119!”

Fortunately, the patrolman stopped them before they got to I-287.

sparklethe-elephant-ropeAs a man was passing the elephants, he suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg. No chains, no cages. It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from their bonds but for some reason, they did not.

He saw a trainer nearby and asked why these animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away. “Well,” trainer said, “when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it’s enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free.”

The man was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but because they believed they couldn’t, they were stuck right where they were.

Like the elephants, how many of us go through life hanging onto a belief that we cannot do something, simply because we failed at it once before?

Failure is part of learning; we should never give up the struggle in life.

anim3bar.diamondThis Old Man Finds His Wife’s Secret Money Stash. The Ending Killed Me!

A man and a woman had been married for more than 60 years. They had shared everything. They had kept no secrets from each other except that the little old woman had a shoe box in the top of her closet that she had cautioned her husband never to open or ask her about.

shoebox money

For all of these years, he had never thought about the box, but one day the little old woman got very sick and the doctor said she would not recover. In trying to sort out their affairs, the little old man took down the shoe box and took it to his wife’s bedside. She agreed that it was time that he should know what was in the box. When he opened it, he found two crocheted dolls and a stack of money totaling $95,000. He asked her about the contents.

“When we were to be married,” she said, “my grandmother told me the secret of a happy marriage was to never argue. She told me that if I ever got angry with you, I should just 60680akeep quiet and crochet a doll.”

The little old man was so moved; he had to fight back tears. Only two precious dolls were in the box. She had only been angry with him two times in all those years of living and loving. He almost burst with happiness.”Honey,” he said “that explains the doll, but what about all of this money? Where did it come from?”

“Oh, that?” she said. “That’s the money I made from selling the dolls.”

rogerreissigIt’s been over a year now since Mom left us to go to her Heavenly home. Dad goes out to the grave to visit her twice a day. He has a routine where he clips some roses from his rose garden at home and delivers them to Mom. Then he hooks up a hose and waters her grass twice daily. With the recent drought, and hers being one of only graves getting watered, you can see that Moms stands out from the rest and is very beautiful.

One day while watering he saw a young lady down from him kneeling at a grave and crying uncontrollably. Dad went down and talked with her and found that her husband had been an SSGT in the US Air Force and lost him in 2010. After they talked and shared stories, she thanked him and left.

Dad decided to Honor this soldier and start watering his grass along with Moms daily. He does it every day. He said it is the least he can do for him after all that he sacrificed for us. You can see his green grass in the pictures down from Moms. Very thankful for this young Man’s service and very proud of my Dad and what he does to Honor him. Love you Dad !
