Every problem, setback, and trial is an opportunity to see God be faithful in taking care of you. No matter what you face today know that God is right there with you and He will help you through. Don’t let your current situation distort your view of God. There’s no problem too hard for God to handle, no storm too strong for God to calm, and no giant too big for God to overcome. He is on your side and He will take care of you.

11.08.17 Wacky Wonderful Wednesday

…so today: We’re simplifying everything. Just keeping it real simple. “So here’s what… to do:

Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life— & place it before God as an offering.

Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for Him…fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out.” Romans 12:1-2MSG

God offers you a changed, new life — whenever you make your everyday things an offering to Him.

*Sometimes the best training for the really big things is just the everyday things.*

So today, that’s it: offer all your everyday things to God. Embrace all the grace of God for those everyday things. Fix all your attention on God through the everyday things — this begins to profoundly fix the problems of the everyday things.

Many of us couldn’t imagine whirling and twirling on the ice, but for Taryn Jurgensen, she couldn’t imagine life any other way. Taryn has been skating since she was a little girl and is ready to show the world what she’s made of during a local showcase.

Her God-given skills are amazing and she’s about to highlight her ability. Shaking off the nerves, Taryn skates onto the ice and waits for her song to begin…

The feeling of freedom on the ice and the exhilaration of performing in front of an audience is what pushed Taryn to enter into the Los Angeles Showcase. Skating to “Hallelujah” by Alexandra Burke (a rendition of Leonard Cohen’s hit), Taryn takes the ice and demonstrates her incredible skill.

Taryn’s elegance, poise, smoothness and expressiveness is part of what wowed the judges. She truly is an incredible ice skater. It simply too my breath away!

Take a peek at her prize-winning routine for yourself by clicking in the video below.

Image may contain: textTuesday rolling in and things may be looking big & hard & a bit impossible right now.

But there’s this: “Jesus replied, ‘You don’t understand now what I am doing, but someday you will.'” John 13:7

When it looks overwhelming, understand that He stands in the midst doing something that you’ll understand someday.

When it’s hard to understand His ways, stand on His promises.

When it’s hard to trace His hand — trust His heart.

Your days are unfolding in His hands, He’s got you, He’s got a plan, He understands you, upholds you, & underneath everything today – are His everlasting arms.

And in everything there is this:

We only think we might write the story different because we don’t know the same things the Storyteller knows.

Who knows why the Storyteller allows heartbreak, but the answer must be important enough, because the Storyteller allows His heart to break too.

And this heals a bit of our hearts:

There is a Storyteller who writes Himself into the story and makes our souls well, because He walks with us until the story is finished in His perfect time, and His perfect way, for His perfect glory — so our souls are always well

…yeah, it’s no small thing, Lord, that You’d far rather
we knock on Your door with our worries & fears,
then let those worries & fears keep knocking on us.
So, yeah, as we look into the week ahead — we’re just here dropping it all off right here tonight:
all the pain of all the people we love, all the hopes for all the impossibles that we can’t even speak of, all the weight of all the worries that we can’t carry one step more.
And You draw us close & You say it slow to steady us:
“Don’t fret or worry… It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.”

We will believe & lay all those fears & worries to rest in You.

09.27.17 Wacky Wonderful Wednesday

Hi folks! Our Weekly Wacky Wonderful Wednesdays will be changing to a randomly published Wacky Wonderful Something! Our travels in our motorhome throughout the United States and writing our travel blog is leaving me with little time to put together wacky things! You can read our travel blog at http://rosalynandroy.com if you’d like to see what we’ve been up to. I LOVE putting together the goofy, silly, heartwarming things in the Wacky blog so I hope I never have to stop it but for now it will not be a regular Wednesday thing. It’ll be a surprise!

Let Go of Negativity
By Tracie Miles

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:2 (NLT)

Several years ago, I went to a summer camp for girls with my daughter Kaitlyn. One of the group activities Kaitlyn looked forward to was the high ropes and zip-line course. Her enthusiasm was so contagious … I even put my name on the list to participate. The time came to put on our safety gear and listen to the guide for basic instructions. As we patiently waited in line, Kaitlyn became more and more excited, but I grew more and more nervous.

The more I doubted my abilities, the more my confidence sunk. As I allowed negative thoughts (even some irrational ones) to fill my mind, the likelihood of actually going through with this activity greatly diminished. Unfortunately, my turn finally came, and I began slowly and hesitantly making my way up the tree — with zero percent confidence and 100 percent doubt. No more than 30 seconds had passed when I caved to my fears. I immediately climbed right back down the tree, took off my safety gear and surrendered defeat. I went right back to my comfort zone where it seemed safer.

Missing out on this activity wasn’t really a big deal in the big scheme of life. But I couldn’t help but wonder how many big things I’d missed in the past because of negative thinking — like pursuing God’s call on my life. I thought back to times when I knew God called me to share my testimony, but I’d allowed fears of judgment or shame to silence me. I considered the years I wasted not writing and speaking for His kingdom, my negative thoughts convincing me I wasn’t worthy or qualified to do either.

When we allow negative thinking to take up residence in our minds, our thoughts will become an obstacle to our obedience. Pessimistic thinking — whether about our life, our self-worth or our abilities — will always stand in the way of following God’s call.

Romans 12:2 assures us when we invite God to transform our minds and change how we think, He’ll do exactly that.Negative thinking can keep us from pursuing God’s call to be a leader in His kingdom. But the good news is, we don’t have to let them. Intentionally choosing to put aside negative thoughts about ourselves empowers us to stand strong when the enemy tries to thwart our efforts.

When our thoughts are positive, our hearts will be too, and obedience will flow more naturally.

OH HOW i WISH I HAD DONE THIS WHEN MY SONS WERE GROWING UP.

GOD’S PURPOSE, By John North

“What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” – Romans 8:31

God does what he plans, and nothing can keep him from it!

Think about who God is. He’s the Supreme Being of the universe, the Creator of everything besides himself, the Author of life. He’s omnipotent, all powerful. If God decides to do something, what could possibly thwart his purpose? Nothing!

Some Christians are afraid of God’s power, as if it could mean disaster for them. But only those who are opposed to God’s purpose need to fear his power. If you’re building your life around God’s purposes in this world, then you can be sure that all of God’s power stands behind you, ready to support his work through you.

If you don’t have a clear sense of what God’s purpose is for you, then build your life around the purposes of God that are true for everyone. He wants you to honor him with your life, to speak of him to others, to give him the credit for what he does in your life, and to pursue a deeper relationship with him each day.

God is reassuring you through this verse today that he’s dependable; his promises are reliable; and you don’t need to be nervous about following his will in your life. If he is for you, who can be against you?

..so this is what we’re doing here today: simply being grateful for that one small thing… & one more small thing… & one more small thing — just taking back ground one grateful step at a time till the battle is WON. *Gratitude wins our wars.* Because gratitude isn’t only a celebration when good things happen; Gratitude’s a declaration that God is good *no matter what happens.*

Today, listen to your absurdly glorious life.

Listen to the holy heart of your one sacred life.

You need to take time to listen to your life —
so you can make the life you need.

Life’s not about growing in status— it’s always about growing your soul. Be small and love large: because getting to be present to love your people’s hearts is a great gift.

Let’s be still long enough to drink down all this ordinary glory and hear your heart keep beating how *all is grace*.

OUR NATION, By Debbie McDaniel

“Shout it aloud, do not hold back. Raise your voice like a trumpet.” – Isaiah 58:1

Sometimes it’s hard to know where to begin or how to pray. We just know we have a deep ache in our hearts that cries out for God’s mercy, and a longing to see him heal our land. And maybe other times we wonder how effective our prayers even are. Yet God is faithful, no matter how we feel, and over all that swirls around us in our nation today.

He hears our prayers, He knows our needs. There’s great power in uniting together, turning our hearts towards God, and praying on behalf of our nation.

Remembering today this powerful truth upon which this nation was founded. We are “One Nation Under God.” He is where our real hope is found, not in our leaders, not in our economy, not in the condition of our nation today, or any other day.

What if God decided to stop leading us tomorrow because we didn’t follow Him today?

What if we never saw another flower bloom because we grumbled when God sent the rain?

What if God didn’t walk with us today because we failed to recognize it as His day?

What if God took away his messge because we failed to listen to the messenger?

What if God didn’t send His only begotten Son because He wanted us to be prepared to pay the price for sin?

What if the door tof the church was closed because we did not open the door of our heart?

What if God stopped loving a caring for us because we failed to love and care for others?

What if God would not hear us today because we would not listen to him yesterday?

What if God answered our prayers the way we answer His call to service?

What if God met our needs the way we give Him our lives?

THE ANGELS’ SONG,  by John Van Schepen

Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests. — Luke 2:14

On the night Jesus was born, shepherds near Bethlehem were watching their sheep. Suddenly an angel told them good news: the Savior of the world had been born! Then the angel was joined by a great chorus of angels, whose song has echoed throughout history ever since: “Glory to God in the highest heaven. . . .”

The coming of Jesus, the Savior, is the fulfillment of all of God’s promises. The Bible says, “No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known” (John 1:18). All praise belongs to God for what he has done.

The angels also sang, “And on earth peace. . . .” Our world is torn apart by warfare among nations and strife between people. We desperately need peace. Only through Christ will true peace come on earth. We read in Colossians 1:19-20, “For God was pleased . . . to reconcile to himself all things . . . by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.”

In The Purpose Driven Life Rick Warren made a statement that has stuck with me over the years: “It’s not about you. . . . It’s all about God.” The angels understood that when they sang the closing line of their song: “. . . to those on whom his favor rests.” Our salvation, from beginning to end, is the gracious work of God.

On the Fourth of July, four ducks decided to make a break for freedom. But the ducks got a bit too rowdy, and the night ended with them getting arrested.

facebook-ducks

The four ducks belong to Cindy Osiecki, who lives in Great Bend, Pennsylvania. When everyone was distracted by Fourth of July activities, the ducks left their yard and set off an adventure around their hometown.

The ducks waddled about a mile up the road, and they ended up in front of a local Pump N Pantry convenience store. The ducks hung out there, accepting food from Pump N Pantry’s customers.

When the ducks showed no sign of leaving, a Pump N Pantry employee called the police, who came to arrest the ducks for loitering.

The officers arrived, and they quacked up when they saw who they were arresting. The officers tried to herd the ducks into their car, but the ducks didn’t go quietly. Pump N Pantry employee Kat described the scene:

“They were being chased by one of the police officers. They were chasing them around the car. I thought it was pretty funny, to be honest.”

After a long and intense chase, the officers finally caught the ducks and put them in their car. They posted a photo of the delinquent animals to Facebook, and the hilarious post was shared hundreds of times.

The police called around, trying to find out who the ducks belonged to, and neighbors pointed them towards Cindy Osiecki. Osiecki was shocked when she heard the police had taken her ducks into custody.

“I thought it was funny, I’m like ‘are you serious?’ There were like ‘yeah we took them’ because I guess people were trying to take my ducks, aducks-3nd everyone was feeding them, even the cop fed them bread,” Osiecki told WNEP 16.

Osiecki is relieved that her ducks are safe, and she’s glad that the police officers handled the situation so well and with so much humor. She told WNEP 16 that the officers jokingly said that they took the ducks’ webbed footprints.

The ducks are now back at home, happily swimming and quacking in their backyard creek. It seems like these ducks’ criminal days are behind them!
